JR. HIGH - BATS

 

Boomer Murchison was born and raised in Helena, AL and graduated from Pelham High School in 2015. He was part of the record-breaking baseball team at Pelham for the 2015 season and was a 6A State Runner-Up.

Coach Murchison went on to Shelton State Community College for a year, then later decided to pursue his education at Auburn University. He graduated from Auburn University in May of 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and began his coaching career at Helena Middle School as the assistant for the 2019 season. He is now in his 5th year of coaching as a Varsity assistant at Oak Mountain High School under Coach Derek Irons.  He primarily works with the hitters and infielders. Coach Murchison also has previously coached for the Sox during the fall league in 2019-2020.

He currently spends his fall and summers coaching a 15u team with Excel. He has also coached for the Post 555 American Legion team in the past (2017-2019) for three summers and took the 19U team to the program's first-ever state championship in the summer of 2019. Coach Murchison has been married a little over a year to his high school sweetheart, Mandy, a teacher, and cheer coach at Helena High School. Boomer loves spending his free time running, playing golf, and spending time at the lake with his family.
